1. La définition clé : Le développement durable est défini comme : "Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

3. Vocabulaire essentiel :

  • Renewable energy : Énergie renouvelable (solar, wind, hydro).
  • Fossil fuels : Énergies fossiles (coal, oil, gas) $\rightarrow$ causes pollution.
  • Depletion of resources : Épuisement des ressources.

Méthodes à maîtriser

  • Cause : Because of / Due to + Nom (Ex: Due to pollution, the air is dirty).
  • Conséquence : As a result / Consequently / Therefore + Phrase (Ex: We use solar energy; therefore, we reduce pollution).

2. Structurer un paragraphe de type "Problem/Solution" :

  • Introduction : Présenter le problème (ex: pollution).
  • Body : Expliquer les causes et les conséquences.
  • Conclusion : Proposer des solutions (ex: recycling, using renewable energy).

Exemples corrigés

Question : Why is it important to use renewable energy instead of fossil fuels? Réponse type : It is important to use renewable energy because fossil fuels cause global warming and air pollution. On the other hand, renewable energy is clean and inexhaustible, so it helps to protect our environment.

    • ❌ Due to pollute the water...
    • ✅ Due to water pollution...
  • Oublier le pluriel : Dire "many resource" au lieu de "many resources".

Which of the following is a renewable energy source?

What is the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy?
  1. Renewable energy comes from natural sources that never run out, like the sun (solar) or wind.
  2. Non-renewable energy comes from sources that will eventually disappear, like oil or coal.

💡 À retenir : Renewable = infinite / Non-renewable = limited.

Kifach nktéb essay 3la l'environnement?

Pour réussir ton essai, suis ce plan :

  2. Body : Utilise des connecteurs de cause (because of) et de conséquence (consequently) pour expliquer pourquoi cela arrive et ce que ça provoque.
  3. Conclusion : Donne des solutions simples (ex: We should recycle more).

What does "carbon footprint" mean?

Your carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (especially $CO_2$) produced by your actions (driving a car, using electricity, eating meat). The goal of sustainable development is to reduce this footprint.

💡 À retenir : Small footprint = good for the planet.

How can we protect biodiversity?

We can protect biodiversity by:

  1. Creating protected natural areas (national parks).
  2. Reducing pollution in oceans and forests.
  3. Stopping illegal hunting and deforestation.

💡 À retenir : Biodiversity = variety of life.

Wash l'vocabulaire dyal had l'unité s3ib?

What are the three pillars of sustainable development?

The three pillars are:

  1. Environmental (Nature).
  2. Social (People/Equality).
  3. Economic (Money/Growth).

Can you give examples of "cause and effect" connectors?
  • To show cause: Because, because of, due to, since.
  • To show effect: So, therefore, as a result, consequently.

💡 À retenir : Cause $\rightarrow$ Effect.

What is global warming?

Global warming is the increase in the Earth's average temperature caused by too much $CO_2$ and other gases in the atmosphere. This leads to melting ice and extreme weather.

💡 À retenir : Greenhouse gases $\rightarrow$ Heat $\rightarrow$ Global warming.

What is the role of technology in sustainable development?

Technology helps by creating new ways to produce clean energy (like better solar panels) and by finding better ways to recycle waste and save water.

💡 À retenir : Technology = a tool for solutions.

What is "deforestation"?

Deforestation is the permanent removal of trees to make room for agriculture or industry. It is bad because it destroys habitats and increases $CO_2$.

💡 À retenir : No trees = more $CO_2$ and less oxygen.

How can students help the environment?

Students can:

  1. Use less plastic.
  2. Recycle paper and bottles.
  3. Save electricity by turning off lights.
  4. Walk or cycle instead of using cars.

💡 À retenir : Small actions make a big difference.
