📘 Fiche de cours
L'essentiel du cours
Le chapitre « Leisure and entertainment » porte sur la manière dont nous occupons notre temps libre. Pour la filière Sciences de la Charia, l'accent est mis sur l'équilibre entre les loisirs et les responsabilités.
- Vocabulary: Hobbies (reading, sports, gardening), Entertainment (cinema, theatre, exhibitions), Leisure activities (volunteering, social gatherings).
- Functions: Expressing preferences (I prefer... to..., I would rather...), making suggestions (Why don't we..., How about...), and expressing purpose (in order to, so as to).
- Grammar: Gerund vs Infinitive (ex: I enjoy reading vs I want to read).
Méthodes à maîtriser
- Exprimer une préférence : Utiliser « prefer + V-ing + to + V-ing » ou « would rather + base verb + than + base verb ».
- Faire une suggestion : Utiliser « How about + V-ing? » ou « Let's + base verb ».
- Justifier un choix : Utiliser des connecteurs de but comme « to », « in order to », ou « so as to ».
Exemples corrigés
- Preference: "I prefer reading books to watching TV."
- Suggestion: "How about visiting the library this afternoon?"
- Purpose: "I go to the park to relax after my studies."
Erreurs fréquentes
- Confondre « prefer » (suivi de V-ing) et « would rather » (suivi de la base verbale).
- Oublier la particule « to » après « prefer » (ex: I prefer reading than playing est faux, il faut dire to playing).
- Utiliser « to » après « let's » (ex: Let's to go est faux, il faut dire Let's go).
