1. Les types de médias (Types of Media) :

  • Print Media (Presse écrite) : Newspapers (journaux), magazines, journals.
  • Broadcast Media (Médias audiovisuels) : Television (TV), Radio.
  • Digital/Social Media (Médias numériques) : Websites, social networks (Facebook, Instagram, X), blogs.

  • Structure : $\text{Subject} + \text{be (conjugated)} + \text{Past Participle}$
  • Exemple : The news is reported by the journalist.

Méthodes à maîtriser

  • Who is the author? (Qui est l'auteur ?)
  • Is the source reliable? (La source est-elle fiable ?)
  • Is there any bias? (Y a-t-il un parti pris ?)

  • First of all / To begin with (Pour commencer).
  • Moreover / In addition (De plus).
  • On the other hand / However (En revanche).
  • To conclude / In short (Pour conclure).

Exemples corrigés

Exemple 1 : Vocabulaire Question : Complete with: journalist, headline, fake news. "The ___________ was very catchy, but it turned out to be ___________." Réponse : "The headline was very catchy, but it turned out to be fake news."

Exemple 2 : Grammaire (Passive Voice) Question : Change to passive: "The reporter wrote the article." Réponse : "The article was written by the reporter."

    • Incorrect : The news are interesting.
    • Correct : The news is interesting.
    • Correct : Social media are powerful tools.
