Structure standard :

  1. Title Page : Titre, auteur, date, destinataire.
  2. Introduction : Objectif du rapport et portée (scope).
  3. Body : Analyse des données, faits observés.
  4. Conclusion/Recommendations : Synthèse et actions suggérées.

Méthodes à maîtriser

  • Objectivité : Utiliser la voix passive (The data was collected...) et un ton neutre.
  • Connecteurs logiques : Furthermore, however, consequently, in contrast.
  • Description de données : Utiliser des verbes de tendance : increase, decrease, fluctuate, remain stable.
  • Synthèse : Identifier l'idée principale de chaque graphique avant de rédiger.

Exemples corrigés

Donnée : "Sales rose from 100k to 150k in 2024." Rédaction : "There was a significant increase in sales, which rose by 50% during the year 2024."

Erreurs fréquentes

  • Utiliser le "I" ou "We" (préférez la forme impersonnelle).
  • Utiliser des adjectifs trop émotionnels (amazing, terrible).
  • Oublier de citer la source des données.

Use the verb "fluctuate". Example: "The stock prices fluctuated throughout the third quarter."

Use formal, academic English. Avoid contractions (use "do not" instead of "don't") and slang.

💡 À retenir : Formal language builds credibility.

Can I use abbreviations in my report?

Only if they are standard and defined at the first mention (e.g., "Gross Domestic Product (GDP)").

💡 À retenir : Define acronyms upon first use.

How long should the conclusion be?

It should be a summary of the main findings and, if required, a set of clear, actionable recommendations.
